The Lagom Life at IPC: Our Sitcom Journey Begins
13 Mar 2026

This year marks a creative milestone for us; we produced our very first sitcom for IPC Shopping Centre! For years, we’ve been known for crafting engaging mini drama series that blend relatable storytelling with brand objectives. But stepping into the world of sitcoms was an entirely new challenge, and an exciting one.
Blending Mini Drama Storytelling with Sitcom Comedy
Over the past few years, we’ve built a reputation for producing mini drama series—stories told across multiple short episodes. Unlike short-form branded content or episodic mini dramas, a sitcom demands rhythm, character chemistry, comedic timing, and a consistent narrative. It’s not just about delivering punchlines; it’s about building personalities audiences want to return to episode after episode.
With this project, we asked ourselves: what if we combined what we do best with a new comedic format?
We retained the structured episodic flow of a mini series, where each episode builds toward something bigger. But we infused it with sitcom-style humour, like punchy dialogue, recurring character traits, exaggerated scenarios, and situational comedy. At the same time, because this was created for IPC Shopping Centre, the environment itself became part of the storytelling. The mall wasn’t just a backdrop; it was integrated into the situations, challenges, and everyday moments our characters experienced.
Inspired by Timeless Comedy
The sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S. has always been our evergreen favourite, and The Lagom Life draws inspiration from its timeless humour and character-driven storytelling. It is no doubt that many people grew up with sitcoms like this that have shaped their teenage and young adult years. But our CEO, Dorothy Fong, puts it playfully: she didn’t really grow up with F.R.I.E.N.D.S, she grew old with it.
“Ironically, I only started watching FRIENDS in the recent years when my niece and nephew started it. Since then, I was hooked and always wanted to try creating a sitcom. Finally the opportunity arose with IPC’s Lagom Life.” Dot shared.
This lifelong connection to relatable humour and character-driven storytelling inspired us to create our own sitcom, bringing both laughter and heart to IPC Shopping Centre.
The Lagom Life – Season 1
The Lagom Life is our first attempt at a comedy sitcom. The brief was to educate audiences about Lagom, the Swedish way of living that IPC embraces. Instead of preaching what Lagom is, we chose a 1-min comedic series format to show what Lagom is NOT.
In a 10-part series, The Lagom Life revolves around how Aunty Molly discovers Lagom during her family’s weekly Sunday visits to IPC, and how her enthusiastic attempts to apply it to their daily lives unfold in the most amusing ways.

More than just another campaign, this project represents growth. It shows how far we’ve come and how willing we are to explore new formats to keep content fresh, relevant, and entertaining.
And with this first season, we’re only just beginning; laying the foundation for many more adventures and laughs to come.
